Exploring Kingdom Partnership
CEDAR VALLEY CHURCH
TRINITY BIBLE CHURCH
A Note from Your Board
Dear Cedar Valley Church,
During our service on Sunday, March 1st, Travis Prien, Sun Hee Hahn, and Joe Fox shared that Cedar Valley Church is entering an Exploratory Season to consider a potential kingdom partnership with Trinity Bible Church in Cedar Falls. As Wesleyan sister churches, our boards have agreed to explore whether God might be calling us to join together as one church in order to reach more people in the Cedar Valley.
After 18 months of searching for a lead pastor, we’ve had 5 viable candidates, none of whom were a fit. The reality we face is that quality pastoral candidates are incredibly scarce right now. After some encouragement from our leadership, we were asked to consider reengaging with Trinity Bible Church and Pastor Peter. After prayerful discernment and deliberation, we revisited this conversation, which has led us to today.
We believe God may be inviting us to explore what could happen if these strengths came together for one unified mission. Over the coming weeks, we will have opportunities to share more details, pray together, and discern as a church family where God is leading us. This will include weekly updates, prayer gatherings, Small Group meetings, and opportunities to visit Trinity Bible Church. Please check this webpage regularly during the exploration period, as we will continue to add new information as it becomes available. If you have any questions, please let us know! You can submit questions to info@cedarvalleychurch.net.
Most importantly, we invite you to pray. Ask God to guide our church with wisdom and humility. Ask Him to lead us in love, and to show us whether this partnership is His will for us. We are confident that He will direct our steps as we seek Him together.
Your Church Board in Christ,
Phil Akin, Terry Flynn, Joe Fox, Travis Prien, and Kristy Rosonke
