Icebreaker: If you had a graduation open house, what food did you serve? What was most memorable about that season? If you didn’t have an open house, what was most memorable about your high school experience?
Text: Hebrews 12:1-3
What sticks out to you most about runners or track and field athletes?
There are three mindsets to Running The Race: Run encouraged, run unburdened, & run with purpose.
Which mindset struck you the most? Why?
To run encouraged, we have to get rid of any extra weight.
What currently feels like a weight that needs to be thrown off?
Is it easy or hard for you to seek guidance from experienced people?
How do you feel about having a mentor? Have you ever had one? How would a mentor be a benefit to your life? Asking a wise, Godly person to mentor you can be influential in the next stage of your race.
God put us in our lane for a reason, how can you run your race unburdened?
Pastor Maddie taught us to take an inventory of our lives, identify the weights that we need to release, and let them go. Have you done this? Is it easy or hard to name the weights?
To run with purpose requires that we be in God’s word as much as possible. The more time we spend with God, the more we will live like Jesus.
How are your rhythms in being in God’s word?
