    Warm up Question

  • Are you good at memorization? Why or Why not? 

 Head

  • Read Matthew 4:1-11. What specific tactics do you notice Satan using to exploit Jesus’ physical and emotional state?

  • Jesus spent 40 days isolated, fasting, and facing intense spiritual opposition. What might a modern-day "wilderness season" look like for a believer today?

  • Without relying on the sermon points, how would you describe the core trap behind each of the three temptations Satan presents to Jesus?

  • Think of the world around you (media, workplace, social trends). Which of these three traps do you see our culture struggling with the most?

  • Jesus repeatedly answers with "It is written." Why do you think anchoring yourself to Scripture is an effective weapon against temptation?

Heart

  • Honestly evaluating your own life right now, which of these three areas: seeking instant gratification, demanding that God prove Himself to you, or chasing worldly recognition/shortcuts: is your biggest battleground?

  • Think back to a time you successfully resisted a strong temptation: What helped you overcome the temptation?
